Scaffold hire from us is a full-service product, not a dry-hire. We design the scaffold, deliver the materials, erect the structure, inspect it weekly, alter it on demand and strike it when the job is done. You pay a weekly hire rate that includes everything — design, labour, hire of the materials and statutory inspection.
This model exists because dry-hire (where a non-scaffolding contractor hires the materials and erects them themselves) is one of the most common causes of serious scaffold failures and insurance disputes in the UK. Done by a CISRS-carded scaffolder it's safe; done by anyone else it's almost never compliant. We don't supply materials to non-scaffolders for that reason.
For a homeowner or small contractor, the practical advantage is simple — one fixed weekly price, one phone number, one company accountable for the whole thing.

The phrase "scaffold hire" means very different things to different companies. Some mean dry-hire of materials, some mean a labour-only sub-contract, some mean what we mean — a full erected hire with documentation. Knowing which one you're being quoted matters more than the price.
- Dry-hire to a non-scaffolder — almost certainly non-compliant, often invalidates trade insurance.
- Hire by the day with surprise extension fees — short jobs that overrun become disproportionately expensive.
- Hire without statutory 7-day inspections — your trade may be working from an untagged scaffold.
- No alteration cover in the hire — every minor change becomes a paid extra.
- Strike date never agreed — scaffold sits up for weeks after work ends, racking up hire fees.

What 'hire' actually includes — and what to watch for in a quote
Scaffold hire quotes in the UK vary in scope more than almost any other trade quote. Two prices that look superficially similar can mean wildly different things once you read what's included. Knowing what to look for in the line items saves a lot of grief later.
A proper full-service hire quote should include: erection labour, hire of the materials, statutory 7-day inspections, the design (TG20 reference or bespoke), the strike, and clear terms on extension pricing. If any of those are missing or vague, expect them as paid extras later.
Erected vs dry-hire
We only supply erected hire. Dry-hire of scaffold materials to non-CISRS contractors is a category we don't operate in for safety and insurance reasons.
What's in the weekly rate
Material hire, statutory 7-day inspections, alterations within scope, scaftag updates and the strike at end of hire. Major scope changes are quoted separately in writing before work happens.
Extension pricing
Standard extensions are billed at the same weekly rate as the original hire — we don't switch to a higher 'extension' rate. The first extension week is free on most domestic hires.

One phone call to off-hire. Hire clock stops the day you call, not the day we collect (we collect within 48 hours).
