1. Who we are
Spartan Contracts Ltd (trading as Spartan Scaffolding) is the data controller responsible for any personal data you share with us through this website, by phone or by email. 2. What data we collect
- Enquiry data: name, phone, email, site postcode and a description of the work, submitted via our contact form or sent by email.
- Call data: time, duration and number of calls placed to or from the office line.
- Site data: anonymous usage analytics (pages viewed, device type, country) collected via cookies — see section 6.
3. Why we use it
- To prepare and send you a quote (legitimate interest / contract).
- To deliver the scaffolding job we've contracted to do (contract).
- To meet our health-and-safety record-keeping duties under CDM 2015 (legal obligation).
- To improve the website (legitimate interest, anonymised data only).
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for marketing without your explicit opt-in.
4. Who we share it with
We share enquiry and job data only with the third parties needed to deliver the work: our customer-relationship platform (HighLevel), our email host, our scaffold-design engineer where a bespoke design is required, and HMRC for invoicing. All processors are bound by UK GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.
5. How long we keep it
- Quote enquiries that don't proceed: 12 months, then deleted.
- Live job records (RAMS, inspections, invoices): 7 years, in line with HMRC and CDM record-keeping requirements.
- Website analytics: aggregated indefinitely, no personal identifiers.
6. Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the form submission working and remember your cookie preference. Analytics cookies (Plausible / Google Analytics equivalent) record anonymous, aggregated usage data so we can see which pages are useful. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time without losing access to the site's content.
7. Your UK GDPR rights
You have the right to:
- Be told what personal data we hold about you, free of charge, within one calendar month.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Have your data erased where there is no legal reason for us to keep it.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive a portable copy of the data you've given us.
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis we rely on.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@spartanscaff.co.uk with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We respond within 30 days.
8. Complaints
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113. We'd ask you to raise the issue with us first so we can put it right.
9. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our processing changes or when the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page is the source of truth. Material changes are notified to active customers by email.
